Urinary excretion of adrenaline and noradrenaline in lumberjacks with vibration syndrome.

چکیده
The vibration syndrome includes vibration induced white finger and disturbances of the peripheral nerves, muscles, bones, and joints. "The pathophysiology of the disturbance of the peripheral circulation is not completely understood, however. It has been hypothesised that workers with vibration syndrome have overactivity of the sympathoadrenal system and that this may play a part in the aetiology45; there have, however, been few studies to verify this hypothesis. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether activity of the sympathoadrenal system is increased in lumberjacks with vibration syndrome, using urinary excretion of adrenaline and noradrenaline as an index.67

Urinary excretion of adrenaline and noradrenaline in response to eserine before and after medullo-adrenalectomy in cats.
Removal of the adrenal medulla in cats was performed in two stages under sodium pentobarbital anesthesia. One mg eserine per kg of body weight was in jected subcutaneously before and after medullo-adrenalectomy. Urine of 24-hour period was collected before and after injection of eserine and fluorimetrically analyzed for adrenaline and noradrenaline. The urinary excretion of adrenaline was incre...

1. Noradrenaline and adrenaline in the adrenal vein of essential hypertensive patients are almost exclusively (99%) unconjugated or free. However only 17% of dopamine is free, the rest is conjugated. The further the site of sampling from the adrenal vein the closer come the free catecholamines to their normal peripheral venous proportion (noradrenaline + adrenaline 20%, dopamine less than 1% of...
متن کاملRelationship between overnight neuroendocrine activity and morning haemostasis in working men.
Sustained effects of SNS (sympathetic nervous system) and HPAA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis) hyperactivity on haemostasis have not been investigated. In the present study, we tested for an association of overnight urinary catecholamine and cortisol excretion with morning plasma levels of fibrinogen, PAI-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor-1) and D-dimer. Participants (639 male industrial...
متن کاملWork stress and recovery measured by urinary catecholamines and cortisol excretion in long distance coach drivers.
OBJECTIVES To evaluate coach drivers' work stress during work and in the course of recovery from work by measurement of urinary catecholamines and cortisol. METHODS The urinary excretion rate of adrenaline, noradrenaline, and cortisol of 10 coach drivers was studied during a long distance trip of three days and two consecutive days off. Each driver was asked to provide seven urine samples on ...
متن کاملUrinary excretion of adrenaline and noradrenaline during prolonged immobilization.
Ss who successfully completed 1 wk. of immobilization showed no significant changes in subjective stress and mood or in the urinary excretion of adrenaline and noradrenaline (catecholamines) relative to recumbent controls. On the other hand, the catecholamine excretion of the immobilization quitters was related to their endurance. The early quitters showed no significant changes, whereas the la...
